Improvement project animal shelters Dierenbescherming Nederland - Enschede
At Otten Pet Cages, we carried out a varied project for Dierenbescherming Nederland in Enschede, the Netherlands, aimed at improving various animal enclosures. This project included various elements: from functional rabbit enclosures to practical vision screens and protective shelters. By using high-quality materials and thoughtful designs, we created solutions that improve the welfare of the animals while facilitating the work of the caretakers.
Functional rabbit housing with night cages
An important part of this project was the creation of special rabbit runs, each equipped with practical night shelters. These animal enclosures not only provide the small occupants with sufficient exercise space to exhibit their natural behavior, but also a safe and sheltered place to retreat and rest. The design takes into account both the needs of the rabbits and practicality for the caretakers.
The enclosures are made of a combination of durable aluminum for the structure and white and anthracite HPL panels for the walls. These materials not only provide a sleek and professional appearance, but are also extremely easy to maintain. The panels can be easily cleaned, which is essential in an environment where hygiene is paramount. The careful material combination and thoughtful layout provide an optimal living environment for the rabbits during their stay at the shelter.
Privacy enhancing vision screening cat kennels
For the cat department, Otten Pet Cages designed and installed special vision screens. These screens contribute to a more stress-free environment for the cats by reducing visual stimuli. Cats are naturally sensitive to their environment, and installing these screens significantly increases their sense of safety and comfort.
The vision screens are made of the same high-quality materials as the rabbit enclosures: aluminum for the supporting structure and HPL panels for the actual screening. The use of anthracite HPL for certain components adds an aesthetic element and provides a soothing appearance. The guards are designed to provide adequate privacy for the cats without compromising needed ventilation or supervision by caretakers.
Protective patio cover for dog fields
A third component of this multi-faceted project was the installation of a spacious patio canopy that serves as a shade area for the dog fields. This canopy provides the dogs with protection from both bright sun and rain, allowing them to stay outside comfortably in various weather conditions. The construction is made of durable aluminum, which provides a lightweight yet sturdy structure.
Polycarbonate, a material known for its excellent combination of light transmission and weather resistance, was chosen for the roof. The transparent roof allows plenty of natural light to fall under the canopy, while providing protection from UV rays and precipitation. The patio canopy is carefully sized to provide an optimal balance between shelter and openness.
